The CPC training sessions are delivered by Shirley Lewington, a procurement professional with over 20 years’ experience in a succession of senior purchasing roles. Working with blue chip organisations as well as the public sector, she has helped to develop professional purchasing teams who improve bottom line performance and service levels from their supply chains. As a consultant, Shirley has worked with a number of public and private sector clients to develop and deliver their procurement strategies, as well as delivering training programmes to establish good practice procurement within large, devolved organisations.
Shirley also delivered a comprehensive training programme for a major financial organisation which supports all levels of the procurement team, and sought to identify and capitalise on all opportunities to optimise their management of the supply chain.
CPC training sessions are delivered by Gareth Jones, a procurement professional with more than 30 years experience in NHS and Central Government procurement. He has headed public procurement organisations at the highest level in Great Britain and Northern Ireland and has provided procurement advice and strategies to 21 Governments on three continents and similarly for several EU institutions and NGO’s. He is a visiting lecturer at the European Institute of Public Administration in the Netherlands.
Training and procurement development has remained a constant feature of his working life both in the public sector and through his consultancy operations. In depth assistance to large and small procurement organisations both public and private has been a constant facet of his career since leaving public service in 2000 setting high standards and effective targets for on-going procurement activity. Gareth has worked extensively on international development and humanitarian relief programmes.
